Liftbound

Copyright and takedowns

Last updated 16 October 2026

People using Liftbound can post text or a profile picture: workout notes, titles, comments, names. We take copyright seriously and respond to proper notices of infringement.

Credits

The exercise drawings in Liftbound are from Workout Guide by Bryl Lim. Many of them are traced from drawings by Everkinetic. Both are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0.

We changed them: they are stored in a different file format, the small pictures in lists are cropped from the first drawing of each exercise, and the app colours them to match its light or dark look. Our changed versions are shared under the same licence. Neither Bryl Lim nor Everkinetic endorses this app.

The icons are Ionicons, under the MIT licence.

Where to send a notice

Write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com, or by post to Zsombor Toreky, Hungary, 9024, Gyor, Dery Tibor u. 4. Say that it is a copyright notice in the subject line.

What a notice must contain

So that we can act on it, a notice should be in writing and include:

  1. Your name and email address, so that we can reply. If you act for the owner, say so.
  2. The copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If several works are covered, a list of them.
  3. Where the material is, in enough detail for us to find it: the workout and the comment or note, or the handle that posted it (or whose profile picture it is). A link or a description of where it appears in Liftbound is enough.
  4. Why you say it infringes your copyright, in a few sentences.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law, and that the information in the notice is accurate and complete.

A notice that leaves out the work, the location or your contact details may not be enough for us to act on. We will tell you what is missing.

What we do

We confirm that we received your notice, look at it carefully and, if it is valid, remove the material or disable access to it promptly. We tell the person who posted it what we did and why, and that they can ask us to look again. We tell you what we decided.

If your content was removed

Write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com and tell us what was removed, where it appeared and why you think it should not have been. We look at it again with someone who was not involved the first time where we can, and we tell you what we decided and why. You can also take the matter to a court or to an out-of-court dispute settlement body in your country.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of people who are repeatedly the subject of valid copyright notices. A first valid notice removes the material and warns the account. Further valid notices lead to the account being closed.

False notices

A person who knowingly makes a false claim in a notice can be liable for the costs and damages that follow. If you are not sure whether something infringes your copyright, ask a lawyer first.

Reporting other content

For content that is not a copyright matter, such as harassment, hate, threats, someone else's private information, impersonation or spam, write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com.

You can also report a comment, a workout or a profile from the app: tap Report under a comment, or the three dots on a workout or a profile, and choose Report.

Please tell us:

We read every report, tell you we received it, look at it carefully and tell you what we decided. When we remove content or close an account, we tell the person affected what we did and why, unless the law stops us, and they can reply to ask us to look again.
