Terms of Use
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Zsombor Toreky, Hungary, 9024, Gyor, Dery Tibor u. 4 ("we", "us"), the publisher of Liftbound. By creating an account you confirm that you have read them and the Privacy Policy and that you agree to both.
Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and do not create an account for anyone younger. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, or that the date given was false, we close it and delete its data.
You must be able to enter a binding agreement where you live, and not be barred from using the service by law.
Your account
- Give a real email address that you can read. We use it to confirm your account and to tell you about changes to it.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has got in, change your password and tell us.
- One person, one account. Do not make accounts to get around a decision we made about another one.
- Your handle and display name must not impersonate someone else, and must not be offensive.
Health and safety
- Talk to a doctor before you start a new exercise programme, especially if you are injured, pregnant or have a health condition.
- Training carries a risk of injury. You train at your own risk and are responsible for lifting within your limits, with proper technique and a spotter where one is needed.
- The exercise guides, estimated one-rep maxes, scores and rankings are general information and estimates. They are not a prescription and not a reason to lift more than is safe for you.
- Calories, macros and other food information are estimates from databases and labels, and a calorie target is one you choose yourself. None of it is dietary advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before you change how you eat, and stop tracking food if it makes you anxious or unwell. Food tracking is optional: it has its own switch under Settings, Features, which only hides it, and a separate button there deletes your food.
- Stop if you feel sharp pain, dizziness, chest pain or unusual shortness of breath. In an emergency call your local emergency number (112 anywhere in the European Union).
Using Liftbound
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Liftbound on devices you own or control, for your own training and to take part in its community. You may not:
- copy, modify or reverse engineer the app, except where the law says you may;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to create accounts, scrape other people’s information or send requests;
- try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or to disrupt the service;
- enter results you did not achieve to climb a leaderboard, or help someone else to;
- use the service for anything illegal.
What you post
You keep everything you create in Liftbound: your workouts, notes, comments, plans and profile picture. To run the service we need your permission to store them, copy them between your devices, back them up and show them to the people you have chosen to show them to. You give us that permission, for as long as you keep the content here. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups, which expire as the Privacy Policy describes.
You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything that:
- is illegal, or infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
- harasses, threatens, demeans or discriminates against a person or a group;
- is sexual, or shows or encourages violence or self-harm;
- gives out someone else’s private information, or pretends to be them;
- is spam, an advertisement or a scam;
- encourages dangerous or disordered eating or exercise.
A picture you upload must be yours to share and must show nobody who has not agreed. Your profile picture is shown to other people next to your name, so everything above applies to it too.
Reports and moderation
We do not read private training logs. We look at content when somebody reports it, or when we otherwise learn of it, and we act on what breaks these terms.
To report a comment, tap Report under it. To report a workout or a profile, open the three dots on it and choose Report. You can also write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com. Copyright and takedowns explains what to include for a copyright matter.
We read every report and decide within 72 hours. The person you report is never told who you are. A person reads each report, so we cannot answer sooner. If someone is in immediate danger, call the emergency number (112 in the EU) first.
You can block an account from its profile, or after you report it. A blocked account cannot follow you, see your workouts or comment on them, and you will not see theirs. They are not told, and you can unblock them in Settings.
If we remove content, limit an account or close it, we tell the person by email what we did and which rule it broke, unless the law or a safety reason stops us. They can reply to ask us to look again, and we do so with someone who was not involved the first time where we can.
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly break these terms or who are repeatedly the subject of valid copyright notices. Where the behaviour is serious, we can do it straight away.
Leaderboards and badges
Scores, ranks, promotions and badges, including the bonus points a daily challenge adds to the Effort board, are worked out by fixed rules from what people log, and the rules can change (the scoring rules in the app say how they work today). There are no prizes. We may correct a result, remove an entry that is clearly false and remove badges that came from it.
The service and changes to it
We work to keep Liftbound available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be, and nothing synced to our servers is a substitute for keeping your own records if they matter. We may change, add or remove features.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Account. It deletes your account and the data in it straight away; the Privacy Policy explains what happens to backups. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, as described above.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for injury or death caused by our fault, for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Beyond that, Liftbound is provided as it is, and we are not responsible for injuries from training, for the accuracy of the estimates and guides, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Where the law lets us limit our liability, we limit it to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is nothing.
Apple and Google
This agreement is between you and Zsombor Toreky only, not Apple or Google. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for Liftbound and its content, for support and maintenance, for any warranty, and for any claim that it infringes someone's rights or breaks the law. Apple and Google have no obligation to give support. If the app does not meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple or Google and they may refund the purchase price, if there was one; beyond that they have no warranty obligation for it.
You must follow the terms of your store and of any third-party services you use with the app. You confirm that you are not in a country under a government embargo or on a list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
If we make a change that matters, such as a new fee or a new way we use your data, we tell you in the app or by email before it applies, and ask you to agree again where the law requires it. Smaller corrections take effect when we publish them. The date at the top of this page is when the text last changed.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Hungary. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Otherwise, the courts at our place of business have jurisdiction.
If a part of these terms is not valid, the rest stays in force.
