Your account
How do I change my email or password?
Settings, then Account. Changing your email asks for your password, and the link to confirm goes to the new address.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password. The link works on the phone that asked for it.
Who can use Liftbound?
Anyone aged 16 or older. Signing up asks for your date of birth to check that, and it is never shown to anyone. If a child has made an account, write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com and we will delete it.
How do I delete my account?
Settings, then Account, then Delete account. It deletes your account and everything in it straight away: workouts, plans, bodyweight, steps, water, food, comments, likes, follows and badges. It cannot be undone.
I cannot get into the app to delete my account.
Write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com from the email address on the account. We delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. The Privacy Policy says what happens to backups.
Privacy
Who can see my workouts?
New accounts are private: only the followers you approve. With a public account, anyone signed in. Your handle, display name and picture are visible either way. Settings, then Privacy, changes it.
Who can see my profile picture?
Other people using Liftbound see it next to your name, whether your account is public or private. It is stored at a public web address, so anyone who has that address can open it without signing in. Choose a picture you are happy to share. You can remove it any time in Settings or on your profile, and its file is deleted within 24 hours, also when you delete your account.
Can other people see my bodyweight?
No, it is never shown. It can be calculated from the aggregate value the Strength League shows for you. If you do not want to be in the Strength League, do not log a bodyweight.
Who sees my progress in a Duel?
Only the friend you are in it with, and only as a percentage. Never your weights, your points or your bodyweight. A Duel ends if either of you blocks the other.
What does Liftbound read from Health Connect?
Only your step total for each day, and only after you connect it on the steps screen and agree. Your steps are never shown to anyone else, never used for ads and never sold. Disconnect on the same screen at any time, and choose whether to keep or delete the days already brought in.
Who can see what I eat?
Only you. Your food, your calorie target and your macro split are never shown to anyone else, never compared, never used for ads and never sold. The only score food can touch is the daily challenge, which counts how many foods you log, never what or how much you eat.
Is food tracking switched on for me?
Yes, if you gave the health consent when you created your account in the version that names food, whether you signed up with email or with Google. Otherwise it is off: nothing about food is stored, searched or shown until you turn it on under Settings, Features. The first time, the app asks for your consent on the food screen and turns food tracking on when you give it. After that the same switch only hides and shows food, and deletes nothing. To remove what you logged, use the separate Delete all food data button there: every food you logged and saved, and your target, is then deleted on all your phones, and it cannot be undone.
Does the app keep what I type to estimate my calories?
No. Estimate my calories, on the food screen, asks for your age, gender, height, weight and how active you are, and works out a figure on your phone. Nothing you type there is saved or sent anywhere, and it is gone when you close it. Your age is filled in from the date of birth your account already holds, and your weight from your last bodyweight, and you can change both. It is a rough estimate of what a body uses, not advice, and the app only sets it as your target if you tap the button to use it.
Where does the food information come from?
From USDA FoodData Central, which is public domain and part of our own database, and from Open Food Facts, which is asked only when you tap Search online or look up a barcode. What you ask it goes there from your phone, with your IP address. Packaging can differ from a database, so check the label.
Do you sell my data, show ads or track me?
No. Liftbound has no ads, no analytics and no trackers. We do not sell your data. The Privacy Policy names every service that handles it.
Do you use cookies? Why is there no cookie banner?
Liftbound sets no cookies. The only things it keeps on your phone are what it needs to work: your sign-in, an encrypted copy of your log, your settings and the latest app update. It reads your daily steps from Health Connect only if you connect it, and only after you agree on the Connect screen. Nothing else needs your consent, so there is no banner. The Privacy Policy lists each one.
Where is my data kept? Is it encrypted?
On the servers of our hosting provider, Supabase, in the European Union (Ireland), and in an encrypted copy on your phone so the app works offline. It travels over encrypted connections. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com from your account email and we send you a file of everything we hold about you, in a format you can open and move, within 30 days.
Why am I getting emails?
Only because of your account: to confirm your address, reset your password or tell you it changed. Liftbound sends no newsletters or promotions, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. If you did not ask for one, ignore it, and write to us if it keeps happening.
Community
How do I report a comment or a person?
Under a comment, tap Report. On a profile or a workout, open the three dots and choose Report. Or write to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com.
What happens to a report?
We read it within 72 hours and decide whether the comment, workout or profile breaks the rules. If it does, we remove it. The person reported is never told who reported them. If you reported it, you can ask us what we decided by writing to liftbound [dot] support [at] gmail [dot] com. A person reads each report, so we cannot answer sooner. If someone is in immediate danger, call the emergency number (112 in the EU) first.
How do I block someone?
Open their profile, tap the three dots and choose Block. They can no longer follow you, see your workouts or comment on them, and you do not see theirs. They are not told. Settings, then Privacy, then Blocked accounts, lists everyone you blocked and lets you unblock them.

How are leaderboard scores worked out?
The Effort board counts training volume among the people you follow. The Strength League ranks your best estimated one-rep max of the week against your bodyweight in a group of about 20. The scoring rules in the app, on the Leaderboards tab, have the detail. A daily challenge, when you complete one, adds a few bonus points to your week.
What is the daily challenge?
One small challenge a day, chosen for you from your own log: do at least two sets of an exercise, do ten minutes of cardio, reach your water goal, or log at least three foods. Water and food challenges only come if you have that tracker on. Complete it and 5 to 14 bonus points are added to your Effort score when the day ends. Until then it counts only while your log still meets it, so a correction can take it back. After the day ends the points stay, even if you delete the workout, the drink or the food later. Nobody else sees your challenge.
Health
Is Liftbound medical advice?
No. It is a training and food log. The exercise guides and the food figures are general information and estimates. Talk to a doctor before starting a new programme or changing how you eat, and stop if you feel sharp pain, dizziness or chest pain.
Is counting calories right for everyone?
No. It can make things worse for some people, especially anyone who has or has had an eating disorder. If tracking food makes you anxious, or you notice yourself skipping meals, stop and talk to a doctor or someone you trust. You can hide the target and what is left, or remove the target, in the food settings.
Accessibility
How accessible is Liftbound?
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, level AA, and to the accessibility guidelines of iOS and Android. Liftbound works with VoiceOver and TalkBack, at the largest text sizes, with Reduce Motion and with a dark or light theme. Buttons are at least 44 points across.
